Senior Accountant

Chazin & Company, a women‑owned firm founded in 2005, is a premier provider of virtual accounting and finance solutions for the nonprofit sector. We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to manage the day‑to‑day accounting and finance needs of our nonprofit clients. This is a full‑time, fully remote position available to candidates based in the United States. At this time, we are unable to consider applications from residents of California due to business and regulatory requirements.

• Provide comprehensive accounting services, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll processing, and general ledger management.
• Prepare month‑end close workbooks for multiple clients, including balance sheet reconciliations and issuance of monthly financial statements.
• Track and report on restricted funds to support net asset roll arrivals.
• Assist with grant management and reporting.
• Manage audit activities (including single audits): prepare schedules, support auditors, and coordinate final schedules.
• Prepare IRS Form 990 and other local, state, and federal filings.
• Provide specialized reporting to support client decision‑making.
• Maintain client files, including prior year audit and tax records.
• Assist the controller with analysis, cash flow, and budget preparation.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• CPA or CFA licensure preferred.
• Minimum five years of general accounting experience; public accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of GAAP and experience with data management, record keeping, and web‑based applications.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Quick Books Online.
• Excellent organizational, problem‑solving, project management, and communication skills.
• Experience in audit preparation.
• Ability to function well in a team‑oriented virtual environment.
• Proficiency with SAGE Intacct and other third‑party applications preferred.
• Nonprofit accounting experience preferred.

The salary range for this position is $75,000 – $90,000 per year, depending on qualifications, licensure, and experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and support opportunities for growth and advancement.
