We are seeking a Bookkeeper who is responsible for managing full cycle accounting operations for the Leawood, KS advisory team and clients. This role is responsible for preparing financial statements, processing accounts payable and receivable, managing general ledger reconciliations, tracking fixed assets, tracking prepaid and accrued expenses and overseeing income and sales tax and month end filings for businesses and individuals.
This individual must maintain the highest professional and ethical standards, be well-organized, service-oriented, and capable of performing under tight deadlines.
Primary responsibilities may include the following, among others:
- Collect bills and communicate to clients as necessary
- Set up bill‑pay schedule with financial calendar of due dates
- Pay bills as directed by team and clients
- Process checks as directed by team and clients
- Process deposits as directed by team and clients
- Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual cash‑flow reports and financial statements
- Properly track income and expenses
- Manage payroll processed by third‑party payroll vendor
- Manage and report Semi‑Annual P&L’s to Managing Principal
- Track and coordinate all salary and bonus increases directly with HR
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 3+ years of accounting and/or bookkeeping experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Relevant exposure to accounting, bookkeeping, and/or tax‑preparation services
- Experience with Sage/Peachtree preferred but experience with Quick Books or other accounting software required
- Organized, detail‑oriented, and able to multitask
- Strong work ethic, professional demeanor, and focus on client service
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate highest personal ethics and integrity
