Position SummaryThe Senior Accountant plays a vital role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting and compliance. This position is responsible for month-end close activities, cost accounting, financial consolidations, intercompany transactions, accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and supporting strategic initiatives across the organization. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will assist the Controller in scaling and optimizing the accounting and finance function as the company grows.
Key Responsibilities- Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Lead cost accounting efforts, including tracking and analyzing manufacturing costs, inventory valuation, and cost of goods sold.
- Manage payroll processing and oversee accounts receivable/payable.
- Support tax provision and filings (e.g., 1099s, Quarterly UK VAT, etc.).
- Prepare and analyze income statements, balance sheets, and other internal financial reports.
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP, internal accounting policies, and internal controls.
- Support external audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial reporting and process improvement initiatives.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Participate in special projects, including technical accounting research, system implementations/configurations, M&A accounting, and updates to policies and controls.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- CPA certification preferred.
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a multi-entity or global environment. Experience in a startup or fast-paced setting is a plus.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP; familiarity with IFRS and/or UK GAAP is a plus.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Sage Intacct is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience with cost accounting, consolidations, intercompany transactions, and revenue recognition.
- Proficiency with Power BI, VBA, and/or data transformation and analytics tools.
- Proven track record of identifying and implementing process improvements and automation.
- Exposure to technical accounting topics.
- Eagerness to expand skillset and grow with the business.
