This fully remote, full‑time position is open to candidates in the United States (excluding California).
Chazin is a woman‑owned firm established in 2005. We specialize in virtual accounting and finance solutions for the nonprofit sector and have received multiple Best of Accounting awards for client and employee satisfaction.
Responsibilities- Assist in onboarding new clients, ensuring that their financial transactions have been properly recorded.
- Provide comprehensive accounting services, including accounts receivable, accounts payable and general ledger management.
- Prepare month‑end close workbooks for multiple clients, including balance‑sheet reconciliations culminating in the issuance of monthly financial statements.
- Track and report restricted funds to prepare a net asset roll forward.
- Assist with grant management and reporting.
- Manage audit activities (including single audits): prepare schedules, support during audit, and coordinate all final schedules.
- Support 990 preparation and other local, state, and federal filings.
- Prepare specialized reporting to support client decision‑making.
- Organize and maintain client files, including prior‑year audit and tax records.
- Work under the guidance of the controller to assist with analysis, cash‑flow and budget preparation.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
- Minimum of five years of general accounting experience.
- Experience with multiple clients or multiple entities preferred.
- CPA licensure preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Experience with data management, record‑keeping and web‑based applications.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Quick Books Online and Net Suite preferred.
- Excellent organizational, problem‑solving, project‑management and communication skills.
- Experience in audit preparation.
- Ability to function well in a team‑oriented virtual environment.
- Willingness to become proficient with SAGE Intacct and other third‑party applications.
- Ability to work from home professionally and independently.
- Nonprofit accounting experience preferred.
The salary range is $75,000 – $90,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for growth and advancement within our organization.
