Senior Accountant

Cordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert is partnered with a northern NJ wholesale food distribution firm who is seeking a Staff Consultant (Senior Accountant) to join their team.

This is a 3-month contract role supporting a company recently acquired by a private equity firm, as they prepare for their first audit and work to bring their accounting operations up to date.

• Location: On-site – Edison, NJ. Remote work possible, but must be able to be onsite for a few days each month during close.
• Duration: 3 months, with possibility of extension.
• Pay: $50–$55/hr.

• Perform general ledger account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Complete bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of cash transactions.
• Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries and financial reporting.
• Identify and correct accounting errors and perform clean-up work to ensure accurate financial records.
• Support the accounting team with ad hoc projects and process improvements.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 5+ years of accounting experience, with strong knowledge of GAAP.
• Proven experience with account reconciliations and month-end close.
• Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with Sage ERP (Sage 100 preferred, Sage Intacct acceptable).
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
