About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled German-speaking Accountant with strong experience in both UK and European (German) accounting standards, including Quick Books, DATEV, IFRS/UK GAAP, and payroll management across UK and EU markets. The ideal candidate will be analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of handling end-to-end accounting, tax compliance, and payroll operations for international clients.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and maintain financial statements in accordance with IFRS, German standards, and UK GAAP.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of all financial data.
- Manage reconciliation of bank statements, AP/AR, and general ledger using Quick Books and DATEV.
- Review, verify, and reconcile invoices, expenses, and salary statements.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external auditors for year-end closing, audits, and statutory compliance.
- Provide financial analysis, reports, and recommendations as needed.
- Manage and process monthly payroll for UK, Germany, and other European markets.
- Ensure compliance with UK payroll laws including PAYE, NI contributions, pensions, and HMRC filings.
- Handle German/European payroll requirements including tax calculations, social contributions, and regulatory compliance.
- Prepare payroll reports, salary slips, and ensure timely and accurate payments.
- Handle HMRC submissions, VAT filings, and statutory returns for UK clients.
- Maintain compliance with German/European tax and payroll regulations.
- Support documentation and audit requirements for both UK and EU markets.
- Fluency in German and English (spoken & written).
- Hands‑on experience with Quick Books and DATEV (both required).
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP, and international accounting standards.
- Experience managing UK and European payrolls, tax filings, and compliance.
- Minimum 3+ years of relevant accounting and payroll experience.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work according to UK/German/European business hours.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (ACCA is a plus).
