Assistant Head of Technical Audit

Overview

Audit & Risk Recruitment is partnering an exciting organisation for an Assistant Head of Technical Audit. This role is at the forefront of Public Sector Audit standards and involves setting audit scales, overseeing auditor independence, and monitoring contract compliance across the Public Sector.

• Serve as a subject matter expert on audit matters for the local government sector.
• Support the Head of Audit Technical in leading and managing statutory audit functions.
• Communicate technical audit information concisely to audit partners and local government clients.
• Assist the Head of Audit Technical in developing audit quality strategy to meet the needs of audited bodies.

• Up-to-date knowledge of all audit aspects relevant to local government, including professional ethics.
• Strong detail orientation and a true love of external audit nuances.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to convey complex information to non‑expert audiences.

Location: Home based with one trip to the office every 6 weeks
