Location: Remote
Hours: Monday – Friday, 9 am–6 pm EST

Purpose Of PositionThe Accountant II is primarily responsible for verifying, allocating, and posting details of business transactions to subsidiary accounts, and interpreting financial data for reports given to internal and external individuals. The Accountant II must work within scheduled deadlines for monthly activities by managing workload appropriately. They will train and mentor others on the team and recommend process improvements as needed. Financial information is confidential and must not be revealed to anyone without the right to know.
EssentialJob Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with month‑end closing account reconciliations and prepare appropriate journal entries.
- Update and maintain accounting journals, balance sheet accounts, and other records detailing financial business transactions.
- Review account balances for compliance with GAAP and make recommendations for adjustments.
- Assist with treasury management and coordinate across other finance departments.
- Assist with year‑end audit work papers ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with weekly associate expense reporting.
- Assist with lease accounting and compliance with ASC 842.
- Train cross‑functionally to assist, train, and mentor the Accountants and Accounting Clerks.
- Interpret and prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Compile and submit monthly reporting to both internal and external clients.
- Create statistical financial data spreadsheets.
- Create a financial analysis report as requested.
- Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping financial information confidential.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service in any/all situations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft and Google applications including MS Word, MS Excel, Google Sheets, and Google Docs.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ethical conduct at all times.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
- Minimum 4‑6 years of experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Excel (required) and Google Sheets (preferred).
- Attention to detail and exceptional time‑management skills.
- Proficiency in utilizing accounting software;
Sage/Intacct preferred.
- Listen to employees and communicate verbal and written feedback; must be able to exchange accurate information.
- Observe and detect concerns or areas for improvement within the workplace.
- Frequently move about the office and customer/prospect locations in diverse environments.
- Maintain a high level of consistent cognitive function to negotiate complex transactions with employees and vendors.
- Stoop, kneel, or crouch when maneuvering the office environment.
- Lift up to 25 lbs at times.
