About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Seasonal, Senior Tax Reviewer to join our team for the upcoming tax season. Candidates must be a CPA or EA with a strong background in reviewing individual and business tax returns. This role can be full‑time or part‑time and is ideal for professionals who are detail‑oriented, tech‑savvy, and highly effective in a remote or hybrid work environment.
Successful seasonal employees may be offered permanent positions.
- Review federal and state income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S‑Corporations, and businesses prepared by staff for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Ensure all returns adhere to current tax laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Clearly, promptly, and professionally communicate review findings, feedback, and required corrections to preparers through digital channels.
- Identify errors, inconsistencies, or missing information; follow up as needed to ensure timely resolution.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and workflow in the tax preparation and review process.
- Maintain organized, secure, and accurate digital records and documentation of review processes and findings.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues across remote and hybrid environments.
- Active CPA or EA license (required)
- Minimum 5 years of recent experience reviewing individual and business tax returns
- Proficiency with tax preparation and review software (e.g., CCH Axcess)
- Strong digital literacy and ability to rapidly learn new technologies
- High level of responsiveness and accountability in a remote environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends during peak season
- Option to work remotely or in a hybrid arrangement at our office location in Olney, MD
- Must be comfortable using digital tools, video conferencing, and secure document management systems
