DESCRIPTIONOF WORK
In this position, you will plan and perform a variety of audit engagements and work directly with auditees to obtain the information needed to satisfy audit objectives. You will lead audits, engagements, and reviews in accordance with generally accepted government auditing standards.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing risk assessments based on audit objectives;
- Interpreting agreements, contracts, policies, legislation, rules and regulations;
- Developing audit programs and objectives;
- Conducting audit testing in accordance with the audit program;
- Preparing and reviewing audit findings and recommendations;
- Conducting interviews and entrance and exit conferences with auditees;
- Adhering to all office policies, Commonwealth directives, the Code of Conduct, and working toward the achievement of Office of Comptroller Operations and Bureau of Audits strategic plan objectives;
- Developing testing procedures in accordance with the audit program;
- Preparing professional audit work papers;
- Developing questions to gain understanding of auditee’s policies and procedures;
- Preparing professional final reports, including audit findings and recommendations.

WORK SCHEDULE AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60‑minute lunch.
- Alternate Work Schedules (AWS) available upon completion of probationary period.
- Telework:
You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full‑time with occasional in‑office days when work dictates such requirements. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high‑speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

- Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year as an Audit Specialist 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Three years of professional auditing experience and a bachelor’s degree including or supplemented by eighteen [18] credits in accounting and auditing; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training which included the required eighteen [18] credits in accounting and auditing. - Must possess two years of demonstrated experience in any one of the following areas:
Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS/Yellow Book);
Institute of Internal Audit (IIA) Standards;
Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) Standards;
American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Standards;
Standards for Internal Control in the Federal Government (Green Book)/COSO;
Note:
