The EPIC Vice President (VP) of Accounting we are looking for:
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Vice President of Accounting is a hands‑on leader responsible for managing the day‑to‑day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining strong internal controls. This role will oversee the accounting team, improve processes and systems, and provide technical accounting guidance, especially in areas such as CECL, revenue recognition, and financial statement preparation. The VP of Accounting will work closely with the CFO, FP&A, and cross‑functional leaders to support financial integrity and operational decision‑making.
Asa Vice President (VP) of Accounting, you will:
Accounting Operations & Close
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close processes with accuracy and timeliness
- Oversee GL accounting, reconciliations, AP, AR, payroll accounting, and operational accounting functions
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls across all accounting processes
- Provide guidance on U.S. GAAP standards, including CECL, revenue recognition, and other complex accounting topics
- Work with external auditors on annual audits and interim reviews
- Prepare and review internal and external financial statements
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, lender agreements, and audit requirements
- Manage, mentor, and develop a growing accounting team
- Establish performance expectations and drive accountability
- Evaluate and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and systems.
- Support ERP optimization and automation initiatives
- Partner with FP&A, Treasury, and Operations to support forecasting, budgeting, and financial insights
- Assist with compliance, risk management, and board reporting
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance;
Master’s degree preferred - CPA required
- 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in fintech, financial services, or lending
- Big 4 experience strongly preferred
- Experience with CECL or credit‑loss modeling required
- Strong GAAP technical foundation
- Ability to manage, develop, and motivate accounting teams
- Excellent interpersonal skills and comfort communicating with senior leadership
- Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
- Ability to pay close attention to detail and be self‑motivated
- Ability to multitask and excel in a fast‑paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- * Salary +25% bonus
- 401k with 4% company match.

$180,000 - $250,000, dependent on experience
