SEC Audit Manager / Regulator
Overview
Overseeing the audits of public companies and SEC-registered brokers and dealers to protect investors and further the public interest by preparing informative, accurate, and independent audit reports.
Job Description
As an SEC Audit Manager / Regulator, you will have the opportunity to utilize your auditing skills and experience in a rigorous inspection program of registered public accounting firms, including:
- Inspecting portions of audit work papers to assess compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, the rules of the Board, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and professional standards related to audits, report issuance, and issuer matters;
- Assessing firms' quality control structures and their impact on audit quality;
- Meeting and interviewing firm personnel to understand quality control and audit approaches, and to identify deficiencies;
- Gathering and organizing information to support inspection findings;
- Researching and consulting on technical issues;
- Communicating findings through meetings and comment forms;
- Preparing comment forms and assisting in drafting inspection reports.
As an Inspections Specialist, you will also:
- Enhance your technical skills through inspection activities and collaboration with inspection teams;
- Participate in projects to improve the Inspection program's effectiveness;
- Contribute to the development and facilitation of training courses;
- Participate in the firms' recruiting process.
Qualifications
- Current CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license required;
- Six to fifteen years of progressive experience at the Senior Manager or Manager level in auditing U.S.
-traded companies; - Bachelor's degree in Accounting; MBA or Master’s degree is a plus;
- Strong knowledge of PCAOB standards, GAAP, and/or IFRS;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Ability to work independently and in teams;
- Willingness to travel 20-30%, including internationally;
- Fluency in a foreign language is a plus.
