Rising Tide Dental Partners is a fast-growing Dental Service Organization (DSO) with 27 practices across 10 states. We are seeking an Assistant Controller who can lead with both precision and vision. We were formed through a strategic affiliation of high-performing dental offices in January 2025, our mission is to empower clinicians with centralized support, operational excellence, and growth‑minded leadership. The Role: The Assistant Controller will be a part of the organization's accounting team reporting directly to the CFO. You will be a significant part of building and owning the accounting function from the ground up. This includes managing financial operations, implementing internal controls, driving close processes, and delivering accurate, timely reporting. This is a hands‑on, builder role that requires strong technical skills and the ability to scale systems and processes in a multi‑entity environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Own the monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close processes across 27+ locations
- Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Consolidate multi‑entity financials and ensure accurate intercompany accounting
- Manage all general ledger activity, reconciliations, and journal entries
- Partner with CFO on cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning
- Oversee AP/AR processes and support revenue cycle coordination
- Lead external audit preparation and manage compliance filings
- Recommend and implement accounting systems, tools, and process improvements
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Operations, HR, and Revenue Cycle teams
- Dental experience and Sage experience are preferred
- 5 years of experience with Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred, not required
- Experience progressive accounting experience, including multi‑entity consolidation
- Experience in healthcare, dental, or private equity‑backed environments is a strong plus
- Proficient in GAAP; experience standing up accounting infrastructure highly valued
- Skilled in accounting systems (e.g., Quick Books, Net Suite, Sage Intacct) and Excel
- Self‑starter with a bias for action, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills
- Fast‑paced, deadline‑driven work setting requiring high responsiveness and organization
- This is a remote position; must be based in the United States in one of the following states: CA, FL, GA, IL, MN, MO, NJ, NY, WA
