The Senior Accountant will assist accounting management in the preparation of various financial statements, tax returns, and other accounting reports.

Essential Functions

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end statements and financial reports.

Perform accounting and related reporting for the investment portfolio(s).

Reconcile daily cash transactions and maintain accurate records of all cash transactions in the ledger.

Assist in the budgeting process by providing variance analysis.

Participate in the testing of internal controls for compliance with NAIC Model Audit Rule standards.

Facilitate communication between departments and accounting to resolve challenges crossing departmental lines.

Remain up to date with industry issues and developments which may have a direct impact on the department or the organization as a whole.

Participate in the development and implementation of accounting systems when and where requested.

Additional Responsibilities

Act as supervisor for accounting employees when and where requested.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Regular and predictable attendance is required.

Qualifications

Education

Required: Bachelor's degree

Experience

Preferred: 5 years minimum relatable experience

Licenses & Certifications

Preferred: Certified Public Accountant
