Our client, a reputable non‑profit organization, is seeking a detail‑oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join their dynamic team. This critical role offers an opportunity to contribute to impactful community work while advancing your accounting expertise. The Senior Accountant will support the organization’s financial operations, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and collaborate closely with leadership to maintain fiscal health. This is a contract‑to‑hire position, onsite in Boston, MA.
CompensationHourly Rate: $35-45/hour*

Responsibilities- Lead the preparation of standard journal entries and maintain detailed accounting records to ensure accuracy.
- Oversee daily cash reporting and perform monthly reconciliation of fixed assets and balance sheet accounts.
- Support the month‑end and year‑end close processes with comprehensive review and reporting.
- Conduct regular reconciliation of accounts receivable, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and other core financial statements.
- Collaborate with auditors by providing documentation and resolving audit discrepancies promptly.
- Manage grant billing processes, including reconciliation and compliance with funding requirements.
- Generate and analyze financial reports, ensuring correctness and consistency across all documentation.
- Assist with the production of annual financial reports, including the Uniform Financial Report (UFR) and federal awards schedules.
- Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within non‑profit organizations.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit revenue recognition practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills essential.
- Experience with Financial Edge or Raiser’s Edge databases a plus.
- Excellent organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage multiple deadlines.
- Dependable, detail‑oriented, and able to handle sensitive information with discretion.
