Senior Remote Accountant
Job Type: Full-Time
Work Hours:
Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM Pacific Time
Salary: $1,400 - $1,600 (depends on experience)
Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, including both senior-level responsibilities and hands‑on bookkeeping.
We are seeking a seasoned and detail-oriented Senior Remote Accountant to join our team. This role requires advanced expertise in financial reporting, analysis, and compliance, combined with a willingness to handle day-to-day accounting tasks such as bookkeeping, transaction recording, and reconciliations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing both strategic accounting functions and operational responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to support decision-making.
- Develop budgets and forecasts, providing financial insights to stakeholders.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Bookkeeping and Transaction Management:
- Record and reconcile day‑to‑day financial transactions, maintaining accurate and up‑to‑date ledgers.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements, addressing discrepancies promptly.
- Process payroll, tax filings, and other routine accounting tasks with precision.
- Audit and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal accounting regulations.
- Prepare for and assist with internal and external audits, maintaining comprehensive records.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial data.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with management and stakeholders to provide financial updates and insights.
- Support the team with ad hoc accounting tasks and special projects as needed.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, including advanced financial reporting and hands‑on bookkeeping.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Xero) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
- Experience with payroll processing, tax compliance, and reconciliations.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Willingness to perform both senior‑level accounting functions and routine bookkeeping tasks.
- Professional, proactive, and adaptable to a fast‑paced work environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and meet tight deadlines.
- CPA qualification or equivalent is preferred but not required.
