Description
Summary:
The Corporate Accountant is responsible for supporting the finance team by performing general accounting functions, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, assisting with month‑end and year‑end close processes, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Prepare and post journal entries accurately and timely.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
- Maintain and update financial records in accordance with GAAP.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports for management review.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Identify process improvements and contribute to efficiency initiatives.
Hybrid Onsite Requirement: This role requires working onsite in our Lawrenceville, GA office two days per week. Are you able to reliably start work on time and adhere to this hybrid schedule?
Education / Training / Experience- A minimum of 2 or more years of experience in a directly related position is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Strong written and verbal skills in English and ability to communicate effectively.
- Must be able to build and maintain positive business relationships with co‑workers and other business contacts.
- Must demonstrate problem solving, critical thinking and initiative skills.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, SAP, Net Suite).
- Proficiency in data management, including organizing, analyzing, and maintaining accurate financial data.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods.
- Ability to perform work on a computer for extended periods.
- Ability to work in the office regularly, or pivot to working at home should emergency situations arise.
- Ability to attend work per assigned schedule and attend meetings with excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to lift and move light to moderate items occasionally without reasonable accommodation.
