We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead our tax department. This role will be central to delivering advanced tax consulting
, overseeing staff work, and ensuring the firm continues to provide the highest level of technical expertise and client service. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys solving complex tax problems, and has the leadership skills to mentor and manage a small team while also remaining hands‑on with the work.
- Provide advanced tax consulting, research, and planning for high‑net‑worth individuals, families, trusts, estates, and business entities.
- Serve as a primary technical resource for addressing complex and nuanced tax matters.
- Review and supervise staff‑prepared tax returns to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, and alignment with strategic tax objectives.
- Manage and develop the tax department
, including hiring, delegating, training, and mentoring junior staff. - Partner with firm leadership on client engagements involving litigation support, forensic analysis, and expert consulting
. - Stay current on evolving tax laws and regulations and proactively identify opportunities and risks for client groupings.
- Participate in business development opportunities by strengthening client relationships and demonstrating thought leadership.
- Utilize technology tools effectively (Practice CS by Thompson R and 90.io) to efficiently create projects, assign tasks, and manage and monitor work.
- CPA license required
; advanced degree (JD, LLM, or MST) strongly preferred. - 7+ years of progressive experience in public accounting, with a strong focus on high‑net‑worth individuals and complex tax matters.
- Proven ability to research, analyze, and advise on sophisticated tax issues.
- Demonstrated experience in reviewing tax returns and guiding junior staff.
- Experience with litigation support, forensic accounting, or expert testimony preferred but not required.
- Comfortable working in a remote environment is PST, leveraging technology to collaborate and manage effectively.
