We are seeking an experienced accounting manager to join our finance team. Working with the Controller, the ideal candidate will lead the creation and implementation of strong accounting processes and policies as well as oversee our AR/AP clerks. The accounting manager will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records to ensure we are maintaining a strong financial position and set up the company for growth.

• Own assigned areas of the month-end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
• Ensure timely and accurate close in accordance with GAAP and company policies
• Partner with the Controller to maintain and improve close timelines and checklists

• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, including account structure, classes, and departments
• Review account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
• Ensure consistent application of accounting policies and procedures
• Support financial statement preparation and internal reporting

• Partner with AP, FP&A, and Operations to ensure accurate expense recognition and reporting
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and scalability

• Enforce internal controls and segregation of duties across accounting processes
• Support internal and external audits, including documentation and walkthroughs
• Assist with compliance requirements such as 1099s, sales tax, and revenue-related processes (as applicable)

• Manage, mentor, and review work of accounting contractors
• Provide coaching on technical accounting, reconciliations, and close best practices

• 5+ years experience in an accounting position owning full cycle accounting, ideally at a high growth startup
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP
• Familiarity with QBO and Ramp
• Excellent Excel skills
• Proactive self starter who can operate independently
• Excellent communication skills to those with finance and non-finance backgrounds
• Highly organized with high attention to detail
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA license a plus
