A highly regarded independent accountancy practice in Newcastle-under-Lyme is looking to add an experienced Bookkeeper to their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys client interaction, cloud accounting and being part of a supportive, forward-thinking environment.

The Role

You’ll work closely with the Cloud Manager and wider accounts team, supporting a varied portfolio of SME clients across bookkeeping, VAT and cloud accounting solutions.

Duties will include:

* Bookkeeping to trial balance stage

* Preparing and submitting VAT returns

* Managing bank reconciliations and bank feeds

* Supporting clients with cloud accounting software

* Training and demonstrating systems to clients

* Working with Xero, Quick Books, Hubdoc, Auto Entry and other cloud platforms

* Assisting clients moving from traditional bookkeeping methods to cloud-based solutions

What They’re Looking For

* Previous bookkeeping experience within practice

* Strong Xero experience is essential

* Confident with double-entry bookkeeping and VAT

* Good understanding of accruals, prepayments and depreciation

* Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude

* Full UK driving licence and access to transport
