Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Bookkeeper to join an exceptional firm of Accountants in Bristol . The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your expertise in recognised accounting software and contribute to the financial health of our organisation. The ideal applicant will possess strong organisational skills, a proactive approach, and a thorough understanding of bookkeeping principles. Some Benefits listed below Company pension Career progression Life insurance On-site parking Work from home Company social events Senior Bookkeeper Duties Manage and maintain comprehensive financial records using accounting software such as Quick Books, Sage, or Xero Oversee accounts payable processes, ensuring timely payments and accurate record-keeping Reconcile bank statements and ledger accounts regularly to ensure accuracy Prepare financial reports and summaries for management review Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures Support audit preparations by providing necessary documentation and explanations Monitor cash flow and assist in budgeting processes Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial data integrity and compliance with organisational policies Qualifications Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or Senior Bookkeeper, ideally within a firm of accountants Proficiency in accounting software including Quick Books, Sage, and Xero Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures Experience managing accounts payable and receivable processes Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail Ability to work independently whilst maintaining accuracy under tight deadlines Relevant qualifications in accounting or finance are preferred but not essential This role is vital for maintaining the financial stability of the firm, offering a dynamic environment for professional growth.
