The role As Audit Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing audit assignments from planning through to completion, ensuring work is delivered to a high standard and within agreed timescales.
Typical responsibilities will include:
Managing a portfolio of audit clients and building strong working relationships with key contacts Planning, coordinating and reviewing audit assignments across a varied client base Acting as a key contact for clients, providing clear communication throughout the audit process Reviewing audit files and ensuring work is completed in line with relevant standards and internal quality procedures Identifying technical matters during assignments and helping to resolve these appropriately Monitoring budgets, timescales and job profitability, including identifying and addressing any overruns Supporting, coaching and developing junior members of the audit team Providing constructive feedback to colleagues and helping them progress technically and professionally Working closely with senior colleagues and partners on client delivery, team development and wider departmental priorities Contributing to new business activity, proposals or client pitches where required Taking an active role in your own development and supporting continuous improvement across the team About you You will ideally be: ACA, ACCA or CA qualified Experienced in external audit within an accountancy practice environment Confident managing a portfolio of clients and multiple assignments at the same time Comfortable reviewing work and supporting more junior team members Able to communicate clearly with clients, colleagues and senior stakeholders Commercially aware, organised and able to manage deadlines effectively Technically strong, with a good understanding of audit quality and professional standards What’s on offer Salary of £55,000 - £60,000 Hybrid working, with a mix of office, client site and home working Modern office environment Varied client portfolio Clear career development opportunities Supportive and collaborative team culture Strong benefits package, including pension, private medical cover, life assurance, enhanced family leave, wellbeing support, volunteering day, annual leave options and flexible working arrangements This is a great opportunity for an Audit Manager who is looking for a role offering autonomy, client exposure and long-term career development within a progressive professional services environment.
