Responsibilities
- Complete accurate and timely consolidation of financial statements for Castrol Group and its subsidiaries.
- Deliver consistent and accurate application of IFRS and Castrol accounting policies across the group, including maintenance and continuous improvement of the Castrol Reporting Manual.
- Provide clear, timely, and pragmatic technical accounting guidance on complex and non‑routine issues, supporting high‑quality decision‑making across finance teams.
- Produce well‑reasoned technical accounting positions and recommendations to support due diligence and transaction‑related activities.
- Ensure accurate and compliant external reporting, including high‑quality disclosures and the preparation, audit, and filing of consolidated financial statements.
- Enable strong governance and control through interpretation and application of accounting standards across diverse business scenarios.
- Deliver high‑quality technical insights through guidance materials, accounting papers, and advisory support, tailored to senior stakeholders and finance teams.
- Strengthen technical capability across the organisation by expanding the reach and effectiveness of training, updates, and knowledge‑sharing resources.
- Collaborate on policy development, operational improvement, and the enhancement of reporting tools and frameworks to drive consistency, efficiency, and transparency across Castrol’s finance function.
- Collaborate with various business divisions to understand and incorporate commercial assurance for external reporting.
- Support risk management activities related to financial reporting and consolidation.
- Travel up to 10% of the time.
- Hybrid office/remote working.
- Strong experience in technical accounting, including the interpretation and application of IFRS in a complex, global environment.
- Proven ability to assess and resolve complex and non‑routine accounting issues, with confidence in exercising professional judgement.
- Experience supporting statutory and external reporting, including preparation, audit, and filing of consolidated financial statements.
- Ability to translate technical accounting requirements into clear, practical guidance for non‑technical stakeholders.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence finance teams across multiple geographies.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present technical concepts clearly in both written and verbal formats.
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high‑quality outputs under tight deadlines.
- Proactive attitude with a focus on continuous learning and staying up to date with evolving accounting standards and regulatory developments.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACA or CPA) with an academic background in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Travel requirement: up to 10% of the time.
Remote type: hybrid office/remote working.
