About the FirmOur client is a strong performing independent accountancy practice with a culture of collaborative working from the Partners right down to the graduate intake. The office is open plan with the Partners working out on the floor in an environment that is informal but driven and busy! Their philosophy is being able to provide a high-class quality of service to all their clients, and it is essential that every member of the team is effectively able to communicate with clients regardless of whether they are a bookkeeper or the Finance Director.
Asa General Practice Supervisor you will:
- Assist partners and managers with the day-to-day management of a diverse client portfolio, acting as a key point of contact and leading client meetings.
- Assume total responsibility for the planning, fieldwork, and finalisation of audits under your own initiative, while supervising audit tests executed by juniors.
- Produce technically accurate statutory accounts and oversee the timely delivery of draft management accounts tailored to client-specific needs.
- Mentor, direct, and monitor junior staff, providing comprehensive review notes and constructive feedback to facilitate their technical growth.
- Review corporate, personal, and partnership tax returns, proactively identifying tax planning strategies and incentive schemes (e.g., R&D, EMI, SEIS/EIS).
- Be ACA or ICAEW newly qualified with recent, demonstrable experience working within a UK accountancy practice.
- Possess strong technical compliance knowledge across bookkeeping, accounts, audit, and tax procedures.
- Have experience supervising junior team members, delegating work effectively, and managing assignments to tight commercial deadlines.
- Demonstrate a proactive, ownership-driven approach to client care and workflow management.
