Remote Assistant Controller at Hopper

Elevate Hopper’s accounting practices as a remote Assistant Controller. This role is pivotal in automating processes and integrating data between systems to enhance financial reporting.

Hopper is looking for a highly skilled Assistant Controller with a strong background in technical accounting and public company finance. In this role, you will lead the external audit process and guide your team in achieving a fully compliant month-end close.

Your role is key in building the data infrastructure that supports accurate financial reporting and compliance with GAAP standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct research on ASC standards and write detailed accounting memos

• Manage external audits overseeing communications with auditors

• Design effective internal controls and support SOX compliance

• Ensure high-quality GAAP compliance during monthly closes

• Collaborate with engineering to automate accounting workflows

Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years of relevant accounting experience

• Current CPA license

• Experience with critical audit management

• Ability with SQL or eagerness to learn

• Knowledge of automation tools or processes
