Part-Time Accountant / Accounting Assistant

Location: Shrewsbury (Hybrid - office based with flexibility to work from home)Hours: Approximately 4-5 days per month (with potential to increase)

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Part-Time Accountant / Accounting Assistant to support our Finance Director with key financial processes.

Initially, the role will require approximately 4-5 days per month, primarily around month-end, with the potential for additional hours as the business grows.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the month-end close process.
• Preparing and reviewing account reconciliations.
• Managing accruals and prepayments.
• Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns.
• Maintaining accurate financial ledgers.
• Assisting with month-end management reporting.
• Supporting year-end preparation and liaising with external accountants where required.
• Carrying out bookkeeping tasks, including bank reconciliations and credit control.
• Maintaining accurate financial records within Xero.
• Responding to routine finance queries from colleagues.
• Assisting with other finance-related duties as required.
