Our client is a well-established accountancy practice based in York, providing accounting and taxation services to a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses and individuals. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an Accountant to join their friendly and flexible team. Accountant

Position Overview

• Preparing year-end accounts for a varied portfolio of clients.
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
• Assisting with bookkeeping where required.
• Processing payroll for clients (desirable).
• Liaising with clients to obtain financial information and resolve queries.
• Using cloud accounting software including Xero, Quick Books and Sage.
• Ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships.

Accountant Position Requirements

• Previous experience working within an Accountancy Practice.
• Experience preparing statutory accounts.
• Experience completing VAT returns.
• Payroll experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Working knowledge of Xero, Quick Books or Sage.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
