This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of commercial businesses, owner-managed companies and charities while taking ownership of audit engagements and developing your leadership skills within a collaborative and supportive environment. The position operates within a flexible hybrid working model, with approximately 70% of time spent on client sites across Central Scotland and the remainder split between the Glasgow office and home working.
The Opportunity This is an ideal opportunity for a newly qualified accountant or someone with up to two years' post-qualified experience looking to take the next step in their audit career. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality audits from planning through to completion, acting as a trusted point of contact for clients and supporting the development of junior team members.
Key Responsibilities Lead audit assignments from planning through to completion Take responsibility for audit fieldwork and engagement delivery Act as the primary client contact throughout audit engagements Attend planning, fieldwork and clearance meetings Review draft accounts and resolve client queries Coach, support and coordinate junior team members Manage multiple audit engagements simultaneously Deliver assignments within agreed budgets, deadlines and quality standards Develop commercial awareness around WIP, recoveries and fee management Build strong client relationships and identify opportunities to support clients further About You You'll be a confident and proactive audit professional who enjoys working closely with clients and supporting the development of junior colleagues.
Essential Requirements ACA, ACCA, ICAS or equivalent professional qualification External audit experience gained within practice Strong end-to-end audit experience Experience working directly with clients Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Strong technical audit knowledge
