Overview

Our client is an established international insurance organisation seeking a Payroll Advisor to support the accurate and timely delivery of monthly payroll services across the UK and Dubai.

Working through an outsourced payroll model, the successful candidate will act as a key point of contact for employees, provide clear payroll guidance and ensure compliance with statutory requirements and internal controls.

The role also offers the opportunity to contribute to business projects, collaborate with international People teams and identify improvements that enhance payroll efficiency, accuracy and employee experience.

Responsibilities
  • Support the accurate and timely delivery of monthly outsourced payrolls for the UK and Dubai.
  • Ensure payroll activity complies with statutory legislation, internal controls and audit requirements.
  • Administer employee benefits, including pensions and salary sacrifice arrangements.
  • Provide employees with clear and accurate guidance on PAYE, statutory requirements, compensation, benefits, pensions and payroll policies.
  • Support month-end and year-end payroll activities, including reconciliations, reporting and financial data preparation.
  • Manage third-party deductions and ensure payroll data is complete and accurate.
  • Validate payroll information and investigate discrepancies before processing deadlines.
  • Collaborate with payroll providers and internal teams across HR, Reward and management.
  • Contribute payroll expertise to HR and wider business projects.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that strengthen efficiency, accuracy and control.
  • Work with international People teams to improve processes and reduce operational risk.
  • Maintain current payroll knowledge through ongoing learning and professional development.
Requirements
  • Experience supporting UK payroll within an outsourced or in-house delivery model.
  • Knowledge of UK statutory payroll requirements.
  • Experience supporting monthly and year-end payroll activities.
  • Experience with payroll data validation, employee benefits and third-party deductions.
  • Strong customer focus and the ability to provide accurate, accessible payroll guidance.
  • Confidence working with payroll providers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict monthly deadlines and service levels.
  • A proactive approach to process improvement and risk reduction.
  • Experience using payroll and HR systems such as ADP or Workday.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to analyse, reconcile and interpret payroll data.
  • An interest in using technology and artificial intelligence to improve payroll processes.
  • The right to work in the UK. Sponsorship may be considered at our client’s discretion.
  • 30 days’ annual leave, with the option to purchase up to two additional days.
