Senior Financial Officer Hybrid Role

CIFAR seeks a detail-oriented Senior Financial Officer for a 14-month hybrid contract. This role emphasizes financial reporting, analysis, and compliance while maintaining strong financial controls.

As part of the Finance team, you will ensure the integrity of financial reporting, support organizational decision-making, and manage researcher compensation processes. Your analytical skills will aid in preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports, essential for donor and government requirements, while contributing to process improvements for greater efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly financial statements and reconciliations

• Analyze budget variances and support reporting efforts

• Manage researcher compensation and compliance processes

• Oversee audit support and government reporting

• Identify opportunities for system and process improvements

Requirements:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Minimum five years of full-cycle accounting experience

• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel

• Strong analytical and communication skills

• CPA designation is an asset
