An established, independent firm is offering a Senior Practice Accountant role to a qualified Chartered Accountant, paying meaningfully above the going rate for Carlisle and the wider Cumbria market.
The focus is accounts preparation for a portfolio of limited company clients, alongside corporation tax compliance. It suits someone who has settled into a local practice, does good, solid work, and would move for the right combination of reward and a firm that will genuinely value them.
Senior Practice Accountant- This Role Is Ideal For:
- A fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) currently at a local practice who isn't necessarily job-hunting, but would consider a clear step up in financial reward
- Someone confident and efficient at preparing accounts for limited company clients, with a working knowledge of corporation tax

This is an independent, well-established firm of chartered accountants based in Carlisle, with fee income of around £1 million and a loyal client base of owner-managed limited companies across Cumbria. Senior Practice Accountant- Responsibilities
Client Accounts & Compliance
- Prepare statutory and management accounts for a portfolio of limited company clients
- Handle corporation tax computations and returns alongside accounts preparation
- Manage your own compliance deadlines with minimal oversight
- Act as a trusted point of contact for your portfolio of clients
- Flag opportunities for wider advisory input to the Director where relevant
- Requirements
- ACA or ACCA fully qualified
- Solid, practical experience preparing accounts for limited company clients in a practice environment.
- Working knowledge of corporation tax; deep specialism isn't required, but confidence with the basics
- Comfortable managing your own workload with a degree of autonomy
