Role Description The Assistant Audit Manager is a full-time, hybrid role based in Greater London, with flexibility for some work from home. This role involves planning and executing audit engagements, reviewing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements, particularly within the travel industry. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising audit teams, performing risk assessments, testing internal controls, and preparing clear audit documentation and reports.

The Assistant Audit Manager will liaise regularly with clients to understand their business operations, communicate audit findings, and provide recommendations for process improvements. The role also includes supporting the Audit Manager in managing workloads, mentoring junior team members, and contributing to the continuous improvement of audit methodologies and practices.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Accounting and Finance, with the ability to interpret complex financial information.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing Financial Statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards.
  • Proficiency in conducting Financial Audits, including planning, fieldwork, and reporting.
  • Well-developed Analytical Skills for assessing risks, evaluating controls, and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
  • Previous experience in audit within practice; exposure to the travel sector or regulated industries is an advantage.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a hybrid environment.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build constructive client relationships.
  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to quality and professional standards.
  • Experience with Caseware audit software, CCH (tax).
  • Accounts preparation and corporate taxation knowledge in addition to audit experience preferred but willingness to learn a broader skillset is also welcomed.
