Manchester Salary: £29,000 - £33,000 Bonus Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent About the Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Accountant to join a growing and forward-thinking accountancy practice based in Manchester. This role is ideal for someone with experience managing a portfolio of clients who is looking to further develop their career within a supportive and expanding firm. You'll work closely with a broad range of SMEs, providing high-quality accounting and tax services while becoming a trusted advisor to your clients.
You'll be given responsibility from day one, genuine opportunities for progression, and the chance to play a key role in the continued growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities As an Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
Managing your own portfolio of clients. Preparing year-end statutory accounts. Preparing Corporation Tax and Personal Tax returns. Producing VAT returns and assisting with PAYE and payroll. Acting as the main point of contact for client queries via phone and email. Building strong, long-term client relationships. Ensuring client records remain accurate and up to date. Keeping abreast of changes to tax legislation and accounting standards.
Supporting the continued growth and development of the practice. About You To be considered, you should have:
Around 1-3 years' experience in an accountancy practice or similar client-facing accounting role. Experience preparing statutory accounts and tax returns. AAT qualified or currently studying towards AAT, ACCA or ACA. Experience using bookkeeping and cloud accounting software such as Xero, Quick Books or Sage. Strong Microsoft Excel and Office skills. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. A proactive approach with the ability to manage your own workload.
Strong communication skills and the confidence to build lasting client relationships. What's on Offer Salary of £29,000 - £35,000 , depending on experience.
