Available on site The role We’re looking for an Accountant to join our client, a well-established, medium-sized accountancy practice. This is a great opportunity to join a friendly and supportive team, working with a varied portfolio of clients across a range of sectors. The successful candidate will have previous accountancy practice experience and be confident preparing accounts for review, completing VAT returns and communicating directly with clients.
The role offers plenty of variety, along with the opportunity to develop your skills and progress within an established practice. Key responsibilities Preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies Producing accounts for review Preparing and submitting VAT returns Assisting with bookkeeping and maintaining accurate client records Corresponding with clients by telephone and email Responding to day-to-day client queries Liaising with HMRC when required Ensuring work is completed accurately and within relevant deadlines Supporting senior accountants and managers with additional client work About you The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience working within an accountancy practice—this is essential Experience preparing accounts to review stage Experience completing VAT returns Good working knowledge of Case Ware would be useful Strong Microsoft Excel skills Excellent attention to detail Good organisational and time-management skills Confidence communicating with clients The ability to manage several assignments and meet deadlines A positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop A relevant accountancy qualification, or progress towards AAT, ACCA or ACA, would be helpful but is not essential if you have suitable practice experience.
