Senior Accountant
Package: £35,000 to £50,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Working Hours:
Full-time, Hybrid (1 to 2 days working from home)

Following a period of exceptional growth, a highly successful and rapidly expanding family-run accountancy practice is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Accountant. Working alongside a supportive team of around 16 staff and a dedicated bookkeeping function, this role will take lead responsibility for statutory accounts preparation, tax compliance, and managing a varied portfolio of clients.
Key Responsibilities- Client Portfolio Management:
Serve as the main point of contact for a diverse portfolio of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and limited companies. - Statutory Accounts:
Prepare complex year-end financial statements and statutory accounts compliant with relevant accounting standards (e.g., FRS 102 / FRS 105). - Management Accounting:
Produce and deliver monthly or quarterly management accounts, providing meaningful commentary and key performance metrics to clients. - Advisory & Planning:
Deliver proactive financial guidance, remuneration planning, and cash flow forecasting to assist business owners. - Mentorship:
Review work completed by junior accountants and offer technical guidance to support team development.
- Practice
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of recent experience working within a UK accountancy practice. - Qualifications:
Fully qualified (ACCA/ACA) or qualified by experience (QBE) with a strong track record in practice environment work. - Software
Competency:
Advanced hands‑on proficiency with cloud accounting software, particularly Xero, Sage, Quick Books, and standard accounts production tools. - Taxation Knowledge:
Strong understanding of UK personal and business taxation legislation. - Communication & Management:
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong, trusted relationships with business clients.
- Competitive Salary: £35,000 - £50,000 per annum, tailored to experience and qualification level.
