Our client is a well-established and highly professional accountancy practice dedicated to delivering exceptional service to their clients. As a result of their growth we have been engaged to recruit an additional part-time Bookkeeper & Payroll Administrator to join our close-knit team in Bury St Edmunds.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with bookkeeping and payroll experience who enjoys working in a supportive office environment where no two days are the same.

The Role:
This is a part time Bookkeeper & Payroll Administrator post, up to 20 hrs per week, where you'll play a key role in supporting both the firms' clients and internal team. Your responsibilities will include:
Payroll:
- Processing weekly and monthly payrolls
- Ensuring payroll accuracy and compliance
- Managing pension auto-enrolment obligations
Bookkeeping
- Maintaining accurate bookkeeping records
- Working with Sage 50, Xero, Quick Books and Auto Entry
- Reviewing and preparing VAT returns
- Supporting the preparation of financial statements
Administration
- Providing general administrative support
- Scanning, filing and document management
- Assisting with reception and ad hoc office duties
What experience is required:
We're looking for someone who is organised, detail-focused and enjoys working as part of a collaborative team. It is essential to have the following experience, and to be able to work on a Tuesday due to a key client payroll needs:
- Minimum 1 year bookkeeping experience
- Minimum 1 year accounting experience
- Experience processing payroll
- Knowledge of accounting and payroll software
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Strong communication skills and a professional approach
Other knowledge that this is highly desired but not essential:
- Experience with in an accountancy practice
- Knowledge of Sage 50, Xero, Quick Books and Auto Entry
- Understanding of pension auto-enrolment requirements
