A modern and forward-thinking accountancy practice in Derby is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Accountant to join its friendly and supportive team.

The Senior Accountant role

As a Senior Accountant, you will manage a varied portfolio of clients and take responsibility for delivering a high-quality service.

Your responsibilities are likely to include:

  • Managing a portfolio of accountancy practice clients
  • Preparing and reviewing year-end accounts
  • Ensuring work is completed accurately, on time and within budget
  • Managing statutory deadlines, compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Working closely with clients to understand their financial and accounting needs
  • Leading pre and post year-end meetings with clients
  • Preparing actions and follow-up points from client meetings
  • Providing a high level of client service and dealing with any queries or concerns
  • Supervising and reviewing the work of junior members of the team
  • Supporting the training, mentoring and development of junior staff
  • Identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and ways of working
  • Taking an active role in the continued development and growth of the practice
