Accounts Senior - Aylesbury - £50,000 to £55,000

Ready to move beyond simply preparing the file and start taking more ownership of the client?

I'm recruiting an Accounts Senior for a growing accountancy practice in Aylesbury. This is a broad general practice position for someone who is comfortable with accounts and tax but also wants greater involvement with clients and the development of more junior members of the team.

There's plenty happening within the firm, making this a good time to join if you're looking for responsibility and genuine scope to progress.

The Role

You'll work across a varied portfolio of predominantly owner-managed businesses, with responsibilities including:

• Preparing and reviewing limited company and sole trader accounts
• Working with FRS 102, FRS 105 and UK GAAP
• Preparing and reviewing corporation tax returns
• Exposure to personal tax and VAT where appropriate
• Reviewing work prepared by junior accountants
• Coaching and supporting less experienced members of the team
• Acting as a key point of contact for clients
• Providing practical accounting and business advice
• Keeping clients compliant with relevant accounting and tax requirements
• Supporting Managers and Directors with the wider management of client portfolios

This isn't purely an accounts production position. You'll have the opportunity to build relationships with clients and take increasing responsibility for their work.

What They're Looking For

You'll ideally be:

• ACA/ACCA qualified or approaching qualification
• Experienced within a UK accountancy practice
• Technically confident with statutory accounts
• Comfortable with corporation tax compliance
• Experienced in dealing directly with clients
• Able to review and support junior members of the team
• Organised and capable of managing multiple deadlines

Experience with Xero, Quick Books and Sage would be advantageous.
