An established and growing accountancy business based in Hooton is looking to recruit an experienced Practice Accountant / Client Accountant to join its team.
This is a varied, client‑facing role managing a portfolio of limited company clients and supporting them across accounts preparation, corporation tax, VAT, payroll and personal taxation.
It would suit someone with at least two years' experience working within an accountancy practice who enjoys dealing directly with clients and is looking for a role offering plenty of variety, responsibility and further development.
The RoleYou will manage your own portfolio of limited company clients, providing ongoing accounting and taxation support.
- Managing a portfolio of limited company clients from initial onboarding onwards
- Incorporating new limited companies and maintaining accurate client records
- Preparing company accounts and statutory submissions
- Preparing and filing Corporation Tax returns (CT600)
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Registering and processing payroll for limited company clients
- Advising clients on tax-efficient ways of operating through a limited company
- Holding regular profit & loss and tax‑planning conversations with company directors
- Preparing and filing Self Assessment tax returns
- Liaising directly with clients by telephone, email and Teams
- Maintaining accurate information using CRM and digital accounting systems
- Dealing with HMRC and Companies House filing requirements
To be considered, you should have:
- At least 2 years' experience within an accountancy practice
- Experience preparing accounts for limited companies
- A good understanding of Corporation Tax and VAT
- Experience or working knowledge of payroll
- Knowledge of personal taxation and Self Assessment
- Confidence dealing directly with clients by telephone, email and Teams
- Experience using digital accounting software
- AAT or ACCA qualification/part‑qualification would be advantageous
- Candidates who are qualified by experience are equally encouraged to apply
- £26,000 – £32,000 salary, depending on experience
- Bonus scheme
