A leading Top 10 accountancy firm is looking for an Accounting & Financial Reporting Manager to join its specialist team in Southampton.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA/ACCA qualified Accounts or Financial Reporting professional looking to work with larger, more complex businesses and corporate groups, with significant exposure to consolidations, technical accounting and private equity-backed clients.
The RoleYou'll manage a portfolio of UK businesses across a range of sectors, delivering statutory financial reporting engagements under UK GAAP and IFRS.
The client base includes a significant number of complex corporate groups and private equity-backed businesses, with the majority reporting under FRS 102 alongside exposure to IFRS.
Your responsibilities will include:- Managing a portfolio of financial reporting clients
- Preparing and reviewing statutory financial statements
- Preparing and reviewing complex group accounts and consolidations
- FRS 102 and UK GAAP reporting
- Exposure to IFRS reporting engagements
- Providing technical accounting advice and support
- Supporting corporate and group reorganisations
- Preparing accountant's reports for subsidiary companies
- Managing assignments, budgets, deadlines and overall project delivery
- Working directly with senior client stakeholders
- Reviewing, coaching and developing junior members of the team
- Identifying opportunities to provide additional support to existing clients
There is also the opportunity to undertake short-term client secondments, providing direct exposure to clients' internal finance functions.
Who Are We Looking For?The firm is interested in speaking with candidates from Accounting & Financial Reporting, Accounts or Business Services backgrounds who have:
- ACA/ACCA qualification or equivalent
- Strong statutory accounts preparation and review experience
- Excellent knowledge of FRS 102 and UK GAAP
- Experience with group accounts and consolidations
- IFRS exposure advantageous but not essential
- Experience managing a portfolio or multiple client assignments
- Experience reviewing and developing junior staff
Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills
You'll join a specialist Accounting & Financial Reporting team within an established Southampton office of over 200 people, while working closely with a wider regional network of AFR specialists.
The position offers the opportunity to move beyond a traditional accounts portfolio and develop deeper expertise across complex financial reporting, consolidations, group structures, technical accounting and PE-backed businesses.
There is very little requirement to work away from the Southampton office, with a flexible hybrid model offering two core office days and the option to work from home for the remaining three days.
