About the Job Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Assistant Accountant will be responsible for assisting with and completing the following duties Process and record financial transactions, including invoices, payments and expenses. Verify and reconcile invoices and receipts against purchase orders and delivery notes.
Maintain accurate financial records across both NI and ROI businesses. Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts, financial statements, budgets and management reports. Complete bank and other account reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies. Assist with VAT returns and other tax-related documentation. Process monthly payroll, including employee hours and deductions, and assist with ROI payroll. Liaise with the Stores and Projects Coordinator regarding stock checks and reconciliations.
Support other departments with the accurate use of accounting software, including sales orders, purchase orders and quotations. Assist with year-end audit preparation and liaise with external auditors. Support financial analysis and reporting activities. Provide general administrative support to the wider finance team. Previous experience Previous experience working in a similar accounts role. Part-qualified or studying towards CAI, ATI, ACCA or equivalent.
Strong Excel and accounting software experience. Excellent numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail. Good understanding of accounting principles and practices. Strong communication and organisational skills. Payroll experience (Desirable). Experience using Stripe or similar payment systems (Desirable).
Experience with Power BI and Microsoft Fabric (Desirable). Knowledge of ROI financial regulations and compliance (Desirable). Degree or relevant qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related field (Desirable).
