Job Summary :Monitor and optimize vessel operating costs with precise daily tracking and variance analysis. Provide clear financial insights to support operational teams and improve cost performance.
ResponsibilitiesCost Tracking & Analysis
Monitor vessel costs (crew, maintenance, fuel, insurance, etc.)
Compare actual vs. standard daily costs and explain variances
Review purchase orders, invoices, and backlog monthly
Track variation orders and ensure proper recharges
Business Partnering
Provide concise reports and propose corrective actions
Support budget reviews and arbitration
Closing & Reporting
Work with accounting on accruals and provisions
Ensure accuracy and reliability of reported figures
Maintain compliance with cost management standards
Budgeting & Forecasting
Prepare vessel budgets with operational teams
Ensure accurate cost allocation and flag risks
Continuous Improvement
Improve cost accuracy and reporting tools
Share best practices and support process improvements
Technical
:
Cost control, accounting, reporting, Excel, ERP (Oracle preferred)Behavioral
:
Analytical, organized, solution-oriented, clear communicator, autonomous under pressure
Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting (or equivalent)
Minimum 3 years in operational controlling (maritime/industry preferred)
