About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join their fully remote accounting team. This critical position involves overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, and playing a key role in month-end and year-end closing processes. You will be responsible for preparing financial statements, managing general ledger activities, and supporting audits. Key Responsibilities- Manage the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with accounting standards.
- Oversee and participate in the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Reconcile bank statements, balance sheet accounts, and intercompany transactions.
- Assist with external audits by preparing schedules and providing necessary documentation.
- Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and internal controls.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA) or significant progress towards one.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, with a strong understanding of GAAP/IFRS.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, manage deadlines effectively, and communicate clearly in a remote capacity.
