Management Accountant

Your new company This exciting and well-established business is looking to appoint a Part-Time Management Accountant (circa 30 hours per week) to support its expanding finance function for a 12-month contract. Based in Southampton, you will join a collaborative and supportive team environment where your input will have a genuine impact on business performance. Your new role Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in delivering accurate financial reporting and providing the insight needed to support business performance and strategic decision-making.

This broad and varied position offers the opportunity to take ownership of the monthly management accounts process, producing detailed financial analysis, commentary, and reporting for senior stakeholders. You'll work closely with teams across the business, providing commercial support, contributing to budgeting and forecasting activities, and helping to drive continuous improvements in reporting and financial processes. Alongside your day-to-day responsibilities, you will be involved with a range of strategic projects, making this an excellent opportunity for a proactive and commercially minded Management Accountant looking to add real value within a growing organisation.

What you'll need to succeed To succeed in this role, you'll already have experience working as a Management Accountant and possess strong technical accounting knowledge. Ideally, you'll be part-qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) and bring a confident and proactive approach, excellent Excel skills, and the ability to turn financial data into meaningful insights. You'll be a strong communicator who can build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels, manage competing priorities with ease, and identify opportunities to improve processes and reporting.

Experience of accounting systems and driving efficiencies within a finance function would be highly advantageous. What you'll get in return In return, you'll receive a competitive salary of up to £45,000 (pro rata, depending on experience), alongside the flexibility of a part-time role of circa 30 hours per week.
