We are seeking an optimistic, energetic, and highly organized individual to provide administrative support and help ensure the effective and efficient operation of Friesen Hauling & Excavating's accounting, human resources, and office administration functions.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated team player who takes pride in maintaining accurate records, demonstrates strong attention to detail, and embraces new challenges as our organization continues to grow.
This position reports to the Financial Controller and HR Manager.
Duties and responsibilities for this position include:- Support accounting functions, including payables, receivables, reconciliations, payroll, and financial recordkeeping.
- Assist with HR administration, employee benefits, recruitment, and personnel records management.
- Prepare reports, maintain records, and support year-end and other administrative processes.
- Provide general office, data entry, and administrative support as required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Ability to quickly learn payroll systems, human resource information systems (HRIS), and other business software applications.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
- Experience performing full-cycle accounting duties.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping processes.
- Experience with financial reporting and reconciliations.
- Minimum of two years of related office administration experience preferred.
- Experience with Quick Books Desktop and/or Quick Books Online is considered a strong asset.
- Payroll or human resources experience is considered an asset.
- 30 to 40 hours per week with flexible scheduling.
