Management Accountant

Your new company A well-established not-for-profit organisation is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join its finance team on a fixed-term basis until March 2027. Your new role As Management Accountant, you will take ownership of the preparation of monthly management accounts, providing detailed analysis and commentary to support senior leadership and trustees. You will be responsible for monitoring budgets, producing financial reports, supporting annual budgeting and forecasting cycles, and delivering meaningful financial insights to aid decision-making. The role will also involve maintaining robust financial controls, completing balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting and regulatory requirements, and assisting with the preparation of statutory accounts.

You will support the management of restricted and unrestricted funds, oversee grant income and expenditure reporting, and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the finance function. This position would suit a proactive accountant who can work independently and quickly become a key member of the team. What you'll need to succeed To be considered, you will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA) with a minimum of three years' experience working within a finance team in a medium to large organisation.

You will possess:
Experience preparing management accounts, budgets and forecasts Strong financial analysis and reporting skills Knowledge of financial controls, compliance and audit requirements Advanced Excel skills and experience using financial systems Excellent organisational, problem-solving and communication skills The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines effectively

Experience with in the charity, not-for-profit or public sector would be advantageous, as would knowledge of Charity SORP, restricted fund accounting and grant-funded projects.
