Career development opportunity to work within an established Belfast accountancy practice An established accountancy practice in Belfast is currently seeking an experienced Tax & Accounts professional to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified or qualified-by-experience accountant with 2 years practice experience to take on a varied role across accounts preparation and taxation. About the Job Reporting to the senior team, you will work across a mixed portfolio of clients, taking responsibility for a range of accounts preparation and tax compliance duties.

This is a varied position suited to someone who enjoys working across both sides of practice and is looking to develop their career within a supportive accountancy environment. Key responsibilities will include:
Preparing year-end accounts for a varied portfolio of clients Assisting with or preparing management accounts where required Preparing corporation tax and personal tax returns Completing VAT returns and associated compliance work Maintaining accurate accounting records and completing bookkeeping duties Performing bank and balance sheet reconciliations Preparing journals, accruals and prepayments Liaising directly with clients to obtain information and resolve queries Assisting clients with general accounting and tax-related queries Ensuring all work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines Keeping up to date with relevant accounting and taxation requirements Supporting colleagues across the wider practice team as required Previous experience Several years experience working within an accountancy practice environment Experience across accounts preparation and taxation Part-qualified or qualified by experience Strong understanding of UK accounting and taxation principles Experience preparing accounts for a range of clients Good communication skills with the ability to build strong client relationships Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines Good IT and accounting software skills Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team For further information on this opportunity or if you are considering the next step in your career get in touch with Ollie Mairs at HireIQ in complete confidence.
