Remote Senior Accountant

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly competent and self-motivated Senior Accountant to join their finance team, operating in a fully remote capacity. This role is integral to managing the company's financial operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting strategic financial initiatives. You will be responsible for complex accounting tasks, month-end close, financial analysis, and process improvements, all performed remotely.

• Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
• Perform complex account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare detailed financial analysis and management reports, providing insights into financial performance.
• Oversee and improve accounting processes and internal controls to enhance efficiency and compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations and management, on financial matters.
• Mentor and support junior accounting staff in a virtual setting.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; professional certification (e.g., CA(SA), CIMA) is a strong advantage.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in accounting, with a strong understanding of IFRS.
• Proven experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage workload effectively in a remote setting.
