Location: Indianapolis, IN
Salary: $100,000–$110,000
Schedule: Hybrid – Work from home Fridays, with the option for a half-day Friday by working additional hours Monday–Thursday
About the Opportunity
A well-established, privately owned engineering consulting firm is looking for an Accounting Manager to join its team. The company has a strong culture of promoting from within, with many employees having been with the organization for 10–20+ years, including the current CFO, who started as a Staff Accountant and worked her way into leadership.
What You'll Do
* Manage WIP reporting, financial performance tracking, revenue recognition, and profitability analysis
* Oversee client invoicing and ensure compliance with contractual requirements
* Manage client contracts, including billing requirements, contract terms, and company policies
* Lead month-end and year-end close processes and financial reporting
* Partner with internal teams and leadership to support financial performance and business operations
* Help improve accounting processes and reporting as the company continues to grow
What We're Looking For
* Approximately 10 years of accounting experience
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
* Experience with in engineering, architecture, consulting, legal, or construction environments involving billable project time
* Strong WIP experience
* Experience with client billing and contract requirements
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
* A collaborative mindset and solid work ethic
* Leadership experience is a plus; this role is expected to eventually have direct reports
* MBA is a plus
