You are a key leader within the dealership’s accounting office, responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and consistent execution of day-to-day accounting operations. You play a critical role in supporting the integrity of the financials through disciplined processes, attention to detail, and strong team execution.
As Office Manager, you oversee core accounting functions and lead a small team, ensuring work is completed accurately, deadlines are met, and company standards are consistently followed. You partner closely with the Controller or Multi-Store Controller to support the month-end close process, maintain controls, and ensure the accounting office operates with organization, accountability, and consistency.
Key Responsibilities- Support Financial Reporting + Close Process: Execute and support the monthly close process with accuracy and timeliness; ensure financial data is complete, compliant, and ready to review
- Review + Validate Transactions: Review schedules, reconciliations, and daily accounting activity; identify and resolve discrepancies and ensure accuracy across all functions
- Maintain Controls + Compliance: Follow in reinforce internal controls across all accounting processes; ensure reconciliations are completed, reviewed, and issues are addressed promptly
- Oversee Operational Accounting: Monitor deal posting, inventory, receivables, and manufacturer programs to ensure accurate and consistent accounting execution
- Support Financial Analysis: Assist in reviewing financial trends and variances; escal
- Assess Risk + Escalate Issues: Identify risks, inconsistencies, or breakdowns in process; escal
- Lead + Develop the Accounting Team: In partnership with Controller or Multi-Store Controller, supervise and support accounting staff; set clear expectations, provide coaching for accuracy and accountability, and support hiring, onboarding, and development
- Enforce Standards + Improve Processes: Ensure adherence to company accounting standards; identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and consistency
- Maintain a Professional + Controlled Environment: Keep the accounting office organized, secure, and audit-ready; ensure proper handling of sensitive financial information
- Collaborate Across Departments: Work with Sales, Service, and other departments to ensure alignment between operational activity and accounting processes
- Stay Current + Compliant: Complete all required HR, compliance, and platform trainings; ensure team adherence to accounting policies, audit requirements, and regulatory standards
- Adapt + Support Business Needs: Support new initiatives and evolving responsibilities as directed by Controller, Multi-Store Controller, or Home Office
- 3+ years of accounting or dealership accounting experience preferred, including strong understanding of schedules, reconciliations, and daily operations
- 1+ years of supervisory or team lead experience preferred
- Experience with CDK or similar dealership systems preferred
- Valid driver’s license. Acceptable MVR and insurability standards.
- Must pass applicable background and pre-employment drug screenings.
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Strong financial and analytical skills

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Leadership mindset with ability to coach and develop others
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience in an Office Manager or senior accounting leadership role
- Familiarity with multi-store accounting standards and processes
- Manufacturer reporting systems
- AI-assisted productivity and workflow tools (Copilot, automation, reporting enhancements, etc.)
- New technologies, systems, and digital tools that support operational excellence and continuous improvement
